“The deep dive into geography and history has identified a substantial improvement in the quality of planning, implementation and outcomes in children’s books. The children are able to recall a substantial amount of information, knowledge, disciplinary vocabulary and can explain such aspects as cause and effect.”
“There has been a noticeable improvement in support for children with special educational needs e.g. use of widgets and sentence stems and the children’s access to research opportunities in each subject. In addition, the children are provided with opportunities to justify their answers and opinions, and challenge was seen in the lessons visited.”
“The implementation of the topic ‘mind map’ has enabled children to clearly identify what they have learned after each lesson, and this is used as a teaching tool and retrieval strategy at the beginning of subsequent lessons. This also provides a basic assessment tool for teachers when the end point assessment is completed.”
