Pupils are at school for 33.5 hours each week.

Each class is led by a qualified teacher and is supported by a teaching assistant.

We provide a family dining service at lunchtimes. This is a crucial time where children can learn skills for life, such as social skills, problem solving and shared thinking, as well as developing confidence, independence, self-esteem and developing their knowledge of healthy eating. The children contribute to setting the table and serving one another from food set into the centre of the table.

Trips to the local area and wider afield are planned to enhance units of learning in the classroom. The children are involved in the planning, risk assessment and evaluation process. Trips have included the Hancock Museum, Warkworth Castle, an open top bus ride in Newcastle, the Aln Railway and many more. Children are provided with the opportunity to experience public transport as well as private coach hire. We usually ask for a voluntary contribution towards these trips.
